High Performance Chocolate
At Peak we refuse to compromise on the quality of our Chocolate. Most ‘chocolates’ you see in the lollies section of the grocery stores are no longer chocolate, or even ‘milk chocolates’.
To make high quality Peak chocolate, you start with exceptional cocoa beans, which are ground up to make cocoa butter. Cocoa butter is combined with water and a pinch of sugar to help stick to the healthy oils in the cocoa butter. The liquid chocolate is heated and cooled to produce delicious ‘real’ solid chocolate.
In the last 100 years, nearly all chocolate companies lost their way. Manufacturers started using cheaper ingredients to make more profits. Rather than using excellent cocoa beans, they got the cheapest beans they could find. Instead of using cocoa butter like Peak, they replaced it with unhealthy vegetable oils. They added more and more emulsifiers, preservatives and chemicals to create chocolate ‘corpses’ that last years on the shelf.
Cocoa butter contains Theobroma oil, a quality source of Vitamin E and a healthy saturated fat. It is smooth, dense in nutrients and naturally high in antioxidants. On the other hand, its replacement in many other chocolates, vegetable oils, are a major contributor to inflammation, a source of trans fats and can dramatically raise your risk of cardiovascular disease.
Choose real chocolate, and you can taste the difference, and your body knows the difference.

As budding young entrepreneurs Shark Tank has been our favourite show for years. I love everything about it. Getting on the show was a dream come true!
Would we be better off if we got a deal in the Tank? Well I guess we'll never know, but business couldn't be better at Peak HQ, even if we did suffer a few bites from the Sharks...
Since the episode we have done our best to take on all the criticism we received, and persevere with our goals. If you are a young entrepreneur, when the Sharks talk, you need to listen.
Let's look back at what went down on Episode 10 of Shark Tank, and what has happened since.
We may be young and enthusiastic, even a little cocky, but we also know when to take advice. We were lucky enough to get feedback from some of the leaders in business, in particular Janine Allis, who runs one of the largest juice franchises in Australia. Her feedback on our old packaging for Peak was spot on. We went out and sought the best advice we could, and we applied it to re-design the packaging in Peak 2.0.
Great advice. Thanks Janine!
Have we done randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials on Peak Chocolate? No. Were we caught a bit off guard on the show? Yes, but I guess thats why they are the Sharks!
So what is in Peak Chocolate, and why do we stand by it?
Creatine, Caffeine, BCAA and Dark Chocolate are among the most well researched supplements in the world. Meta-analysis of clinical studies on a supplement is the gold standard for a supplement's validity. There are many highly respected, positive analyses on the effects of caffeine and exercise, creatine and performance, BCAA and Dark chocolate on health. Peak Chocolate has combined these four incredible ingredients into a clever, original and now, successful product. In fact along the way it has created a whole new category, Performance Dark Chocolate.
Peak is booming in 2017, we now have well over 100 stockists and over 3500 loyal and energised customers. Sales have grown to well over $10,000 a month and our new national distributor comes on board in October. We've launched a new product (Peak Single Serves) and we are working with our amazing production partners to develop two, brand new varieties of Peak Chocolate.
We've been blown away by Peak's reception in the market. Looks like low sugar, high energy dark chocolate was a serious gap in the market!
Much to our surprise, there was a lot of controversy over my law degree. Once again, I chose to take the Shark's advice. Janine and the gang will no doubt be pleased to know that since the taping of the episode I have completed one of my two remaining subjects and I am deep into the second...Defamation Law, and Insolvency. Hopefully we won't be needing either anytime soon!
Rory and I didn't want to make just another protein bar, shake or powder. There is enough of those. We made something original, something that no-one had seen before.
The Sharks helped us to improve it and we're grateful for that!
Rory and I, the founders of Peak Chocolate, will be appearing on Shark Tank Episode 10, screening Tuesday 29 August. We recorded the show late last year.
Here are three crazy secrets you won't see on the show:
When you first walk on on stage. The Sharks stare you down for a full minute of silence. You are simply standing on stage, no-one is making a sound, until you are told you are allowed to speak. I can say first hand that it is seriously nerve racking. I wasn't sure if I was shaking because I had eaten too much Peak or because I was shit scared in front of the Sharks!
Despite the rumours, Shark Tank is real! There are so many conspiracy theories that Shark Tank is "staged" or "scripted". But as someone who just went on the show (and has no affiliation with any TV network in any way), I can safely say it certainly is not! Nobody told me what to say, and we really had free reign out there to pitch our product to the best of our ability.
Well maybe this isn't a real secret of the show, but the Sharks were not joking when they said that they loved the taste (yes they actually ate the chocolate on the show).
We now have over 2000 happy customers of the world's first, low-sugar, sports supplement enriched, pre-workout, dark chocolate.
Look out for us this week on Shark Tank, and let us know if you agree or disagree with the Sharks.
Or, try it for FREE yourself now, before everything goes crazy and we sell out.

A recent study by Kingston University in the UK and published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition has shown that Dark Chocolate alone can increase sports performance by 6 percent.*
"Dark chocolate (DC) is abundant in flavanols which have been reported to increase the bioavailability and bioactivity of nitric oxide (NO)."
Add to this the performance effect of our carefully selected supplements and you have the proven performance benefits of Peak Chocolate.
Why we chose our ingredients
High Cacao chocolate
Rich source of antioxidants and flavenols
Reduces risk of cardiovascular disease
Improves insulin sensitivity
Reduces blood pressure
The health benefits of dark chocolate have been recognized for some time. Unique health benefits come from the cacao (cocoa).
Research focus has been on the antioxidants contained in chocolate, such as the polyphenols, including the flavanoids (flavanols). Dark chocolate is thought to contain the highest concentration of antioxidants of any other food, which can constitute up to 18% of the total weight of the cacao seed.
Human studies have demonstrated that moderate dark chocolate consumption reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke, improves insulin sensitivity, reduces blood pressure, and can reduce both total and LDL cholesterol.
Other studies suggest that the antioxidants and fiber in dark chocolate can benefit our healthy gut bacteria (and overall digestion) by acting as a ‘prebiotic’ food.
